Our mission is to rescue and assist Pit Bull-Type dogs and owners and to be a community outreach. We promote responsible ownership in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin a 501 (c) 3 Organization EIN 27-4528168
Mecca's Pit Bull Rescue was founded in 2010 in Sheboygan, WI . My experience with Pit Bull Terrier- Type Dogs began back in 1982 and I have loved them ever since. This rescue was founded because of the knowledge and understanding of them. The bond I have created with my dogs is amazing because I understand they need to be cared for and loved.
I have always loved training dogs and this experience with them makes them a dog of my choice. They should be socialized at a very young age with people, places and things. Please check out our training program, great things are happening.
This rescue is currently foster based and we continue to improve as we grow. Pit Bulls are not the problem it is a people problem. We encourage people to get to know us. As you sit here reading this a Pit Bull Terrier - Type Dog is being euthanized because they are overlooked. These types of dogs are feared because the bad rap they have received over the years.
I hope this website brings valuable information to people.
This organization believes in these dogs and we will continue to be a voice for them. We have seen the effects of neglect and abuse. These dogs deserve good homes and know what care and love really is.
We ask you to continue to help support this rescue through donations, volunteering or fostering. Owners of these dogs must be better than the rest.
We hope this website helps you and you get involved.
You can make a difference!
Hi my name is Kayla, I came into rescue on 8/7/18 a very scared girl.
I was only five months old and I needed help. If nobody helped me, I would not be alive today. I am currently in training and I love it.
I get to train everyday, of course I get breaks and get to cuddle up.
Whoever had me before failed to socialize me and I was very scared. It took Mecca Curtice 5 hours to get me to come out from hiding. I still get scared but I know she is not giving up on me. I am progressing through Behavior Modification.
Through training I have learned to sit, stay and I know how to stay until released. I lay down and know how to go from lay down to a sit.
I get learn dance moves and that is really good for me. I always keep focused . I also love playing ball and look forward to that.
My DNA test shows I am 87.5 % American Staffordshire Terrier/ 12.5% Terrier mix.
My life is changing for the better and I love this rescue.
